Once upon a time, in a cozy little house, there lived a boy named Ethan. Ethan's parents loved him dearly.
One day, while Ethan was playing in the garden, his mom called him excitedly into the house. With a big smile, she said, "Ethan, I have some wonderful news! You're going to be a big brother soon!"
Ethan’s heart filled with curiosity and excitement. He couldn’t wait to meet his baby sister.
Soon, the day arrived. His mom came home, cradling a tiny bundle in her arms. "Ethan, this is your baby sister. Her name is Emma."
Ethan gently took hold of Emma’s tiny fingers, his eyes sparkling with joy. He thought to himself, "Finally! Someone to play with!"
But as the days went by, Ethan realized that Emma was too little to do many things. He wanted to take her to the beach, but Mom said she was too small. He tried to play hide-and-seek, but Emma didn’t even understand the game. Ethan started to feel disappointed—his little sister couldn’t really play with him at all.
What made things even harder was that ever since Emma was born, Mom and Dad spent most of their time taking care of her. They hardly had any time to play with him anymore. Ethan felt left out.
One day, he sat in the garden, staring at his baby sister sleeping peacefully in her cradle. His heart was full of questions. "Why don’t Mom and Dad play with me anymore? Do they still love me?"
Just then, Mom came over and saw the sadness on his face. She gently stroked his hair and asked, "Ethan, are you feeling left out?"
Ethan lowered his head and whispered, "It just feels like... ever since Emma came, you don’t have time for me anymore."
Mom picked Ethan up and sat with him on the garden bench. With a warm voice, she said, "Ethan, taking care of a baby takes a lot of time and effort, but that doesn’t mean we love you any less. We still love you very, very much. We just need to take extra care of Emma right now."
Ethan nodded, but deep down, he still felt a little sad.
Mom continued, "Do you know? When you were a baby, we took care of you the same way. Now, Emma needs our love and care. And you, Ethan, can be a wonderful big brother and a great helper."
Ethan thought about it. His heart felt a little lighter. Mom patted his shoulder and said, "With a little patience, there are lots of things you and Emma can do together."
Mom showed Ethan how to play simple games with Emma, like making her giggle, singing her songs, and even helping with diaper changes. Slowly, Ethan realized that even though Emma was small, spending time with her could be fun in its own way.
One day, Ethan waved a colorful stuffed animal in front of Emma, making funny noises. Emma burst into giggles, and Ethan laughed along with her. Just then, Dad came over and scooped Ethan up in a big hug. "Ethan, you’re such a great big brother. Look how much Emma loves being with you."
Ethan felt a warm glow inside. He realized that even though Mom and Dad were busy with Emma, they still loved him just as much as before. And being a big brother wasn’t just about waiting—he could make Emma happy, too!
From that day on, Ethan no longer felt lonely. He learned how to have fun with Emma and how to take care of her. He spent many wonderful moments with his little sister. Before long, Ethan wasn’t just Emma’s big brother—he was also Mom and Dad’s best little helper. That made him feel proud and happy.
As time passed, Emma grew bigger and finally reached the age where she could play with Ethan. They played hide-and-seek, ran around the garden together, and filled the house with laughter. Ethan realized how lucky he was to have a sister. No matter what happened in the future, he knew one thing for sure—their family would always be together, supporting and loving one another.
