Can I Borrow Your Tail?

Can I Borrow Your Tail?

Once upon a time, in a lush and vibrant forest, lived a playful little gecko. He had a beautiful tail, and every day, he would explore the forest, playing with his animal friends.

One day, while searching for food, the little gecko suddenly encountered a fierce snake!

The snake opened its wide mouth and bit down on the gecko’s tail! Terrified, the little gecko struggled with all his might and finally broke free—but his tail had been bitten off.

The little gecko, enduring the pain, quickly ran back home. When he got there, he looked at his missing tail and felt very sad. He thought he looked strange without it, so he decided to borrow a tail.

First, the little gecko went to the riverbank, where he saw Sister Fish swimming gracefully in the water.

The little gecko asked, “Sister Fish, can I borrow your tail? A snake bit mine off.”

Sister Fish gently shook her head and said, “I’m sorry, little gecko, but I need my tail to swim. I can’t lend it to you.”

Disappointed, the little gecko left the river and climbed up a big tree. There, he saw Uncle Ox under the tree, swishing his tail as he munched on grass.

The little gecko asked, “Uncle Ox, can I borrow your tail? A snake bit mine off.”

Uncle Ox shook his head and said, “I’m sorry, little gecko, but I need my tail to swat flies away. I can’t lend it to you.”

Next, the little gecko went to the rooftop and saw Auntie Swallow flying through the sky, her tail guiding her movements.

The little gecko asked, “Auntie Swallow, can I borrow your tail? A snake bit mine off.”

Auntie Swallow shook her head and said, “I’m sorry, little gecko, but I need my tail to steer while flying. I can’t lend it to you.”

The little gecko searched the whole forest, asking many animals, but no one was willing to lend him a tail. Feeling sad and discouraged, he returned home with his head hanging low.

His mother saw how unhappy he was and asked with concern, “What’s wrong, my dear?”

The little gecko told his mother about his search for a new tail. After listening, his mother chuckled and said, “Silly child, turn around and take a look.”

Puzzled, the little gecko turned around—and to his surprise, he saw that his tail had grown back!

Overjoyed, he shouted, “I have a new tail!”

His mother smiled and said, “You see, little one, geckos can regrow their tails. If you ever lose it again, don’t worry—it will grow back.”

From that day on, the little gecko never felt sad about losing his tail. He continued his exciting adventures in the forest, playing happily with his friends and living a joyful life.
